Alvin Yam has over 20 years of experience in the investment and wealth management industry and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego and a Master of Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University.
Prior to forming Paraiba, Alvin was a Director at HSBC, Investments and Wealth Services in Hong Kong where he managed key client accounts and was responsible for managing a portfolio of wealth management products. Prior to this, Alvin was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Westmount Asset Management in Los Angeles where he served on the Investment Committee and co-managed $2 billion in client assets while providing investment management and financial planning services for families and institutions. He began his career as a Financial Consultant at Charles Schwab in San Francisco where he counselled clients with their retirement planning, investment and estate planning needs.
Alvin completed the CFP Board registered certificate program from the University of California, Los Angeles and holds the Certified Financial Planner CFP® certification and also speaks Mandarin and Cantonese.
Allan Yam has over 20 years of experience in portfolio management and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
Prior to forming Paraiba, Allan was a Portfolio Manager at Redwoods Global Asset Management based in California where he co-managed over $200 million in assets covering multi-asset strategies. Prior to this, Allan was an Analyst at Marcuard Family Office in Switzerland and helped managed over $150 million in private client assets. Allan began his career as an Associate Portfolio Manager at Charles Schwab Investment Management in San Francisco where he co-managed over $500 million in assets in retail and institutional funds. He holds the Certified Financial Planner CFP® certification.
